1. Overview
You can delete your Anymo account at any time. When you do, your account is deactivated immediately and enters a 90-day recovery window. If you sign back in during that window, your account is fully restored. If you do not, your account and all associated personal data are permanently erased after 90 days.
If you have any questions, contact us at admin@anymo.app.
2. How to Delete Your Account
2.1 In-App Deletion (Recommended — Self-Serve)
The fastest way to delete your account is from inside the Anymo mobile app:
- Open the Anymo app and sign in.
- Tap the menu icon to open the side drawer, then tap Account & Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
- Confirm the action in the dialog. Your account is deactivated immediately and you are signed out.
2.2 Email Request (If You Cannot Access the App)
If you no longer have the app installed, lost access to your registered mobile number, or otherwise cannot complete the in-app flow, send an email from your registered email address to:
To: admin@anymo.app
Subject: Delete my Anymo account
Include: Your registered mobile number (with country code) and the email address linked to your Anymo account.
We may ask you to verify ownership of the account before processing the request (for example, by replying from the registered email or confirming a one-time code sent to your registered mobile number). This protects you from unauthorised deletion requests.
3. What Happens Immediately
When you confirm deletion in the app, the following happens at once:
- You are signed out on the device you deleted from. Other devices stop working as soon as their session expires.
- Push notifications stop — your Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token is cleared.
- Account is marked as deactivated — sign-in is blocked except via the recovery flow described in § 4.
During the 90-day recovery window, your profile, listings, messages, ratings, cart, and subscription remain in our database in a deactivated state. They are not used for any purpose other than enabling you to restore your account.
4. The 90-Day Recovery Window
To restore a deleted account, simply open the Anymo app and sign in with the same mobile number and OTP you used before. If you sign in within 90 days of deletion:
- Your account is reactivated automatically — no support contact needed.
- Your listings, messages, ratings, cart, and subscription are restored exactly as they were at deletion.
- You will need to re-grant push-notification permission on the device.
If you do not sign in within 90 days, your account moves to permanent deletion (see § 5) and cannot be recovered. Attempting to register a new account with the same mobile number during the recovery window will prompt you to sign in to restore the deleted account instead.
5. Permanent Deletion After 90 Days
90 days after deletion, accounts are scheduled for permanent erasure. We delete:
- Your profile data — name, email, mobile number, profile photo, brand logo, address, and GPS coordinates.
- Your listings, including photos and pricing.
- Your cart, conversations, and ratings.
- Your subscription record.
- Any remaining authentication artefacts (OTP records, refresh tokens).
Encrypted database backups are rotated on a 30-day cycle, so erased data may persist in cold backups for up to 30 additional days before being overwritten. Backups are not used for any purpose other than disaster recovery.
6. What We Retain After Permanent Deletion
A small subset of data must be retained even after permanent deletion, for legal, financial, and safety reasons. Wherever possible, retained data is anonymised so it can no longer be linked back to you.
- Completed rental transactions, invoices, and tax records — retained for up to 8 years as required by the Income Tax Act, 1961 and the Central Goods and Services Tax Act, 2017 (India). Invoices issued under GST law cannot be altered or deleted after issuance, even on user request.
- Payment dispute and chargeback evidence — retained until the dispute is resolved with the payment processor (Cashfree) and any associated bank.
- Aggregated and anonymised analytics — aggregate metrics (e.g., “total rentals in a category last month”) that contain no personal identifiers may be retained indefinitely.
Retained data is held in restricted-access systems and is not used to contact you or to build an advertising profile.
7. Requesting Immediate Erasure
You have the right under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 to request immediate erasure of your personal data without waiting for the 90-day recovery window to end. To do so, email admin@anymo.app from your registered email address with the subject “Erase my Anymo data immediately”. We will:
- Acknowledge your request within 3 working days.
- Verify that you own the account.
- Erase your remaining personal data within 30 days of verification, retaining only the legally-required financial records described in § 6.
- Confirm completion by email.
Once you submit an immediate-erasure request and we confirm completion, the 90-day recovery option is no longer available.
