Anymo is a listing platform
Anymo helps people who own things find people who want to rent them. We are an intermediary — we provide the listings, the chat, and a record of the rental. We are not a party to any rental agreement, and we do not own, inspect, store, or insure any item on the platform. We are working on adding optional protection plans for some categories through a licensed insurance partner — that is not live yet, and we will say so clearly here when it is.
In-app payments and in-app identity verification are not live yet. Every payment, security deposit, and identity check happens in person, directly between the owner and the renter. Anymo never processes, holds, or transfers money.
What Anymo does
- Lists items and makes them discoverable to renters nearby
- Connects owners and renters through in-app chat
- Keeps a record of each rental — dates, item, and the agreed amounts
- Lets an owner note a deposit amount for their own reference
- Provides a grievance channel if something goes wrong on the platform
What Anymo does not do
- We do not own, inspect, test, store, or deliver any item
- We do not verify the identity of owners or renters
- We do not handle money — no rent, no deposits, no escrow, no refunds
- We do not guarantee an item's condition, safety, quality, or availability
- We do not insure items, and we do not compensate for damage, loss, or theft. We are exploring optional protection plans for selected categories, but nothing on the platform is covered today — see what's coming below
- We are not a party to the rental agreement between an owner and a renter
Who is responsible for what
If you are listing an item (owner)
- You decide who to rent to, and you can decline anyone
- You collect the security deposit yourself, in person, and you hold it
- You check the renter's ID at handover — see the guidance below
- You inspect the item at handover and again at return
- You make sure the item is legal to rent and safe to use
- If the item is damaged, lost, or returned late, you settle it with the renter
If you are renting an item (renter)
- You are renting from another person, not from Anymo
- You pay the rent and deposit directly to the owner
- You check the item's condition at handover before accepting it
- You return the item on time and in the condition you received it
- You are responsible for damage or loss while the item is with you
Checking ID safely
We strongly recommend that owners check a valid government-issued photo ID — such as an Aadhaar card, driving licence, or passport — before handing over any item. Look at the original document, match the photo to the person in front of you, and note the ID number for your own records.
If something goes wrong
A dispute over an item — damage, loss, late return, or a deposit — is between the owner and the renter. Anymo is not a party to it and does not compensate either side for any loss.
What we can do:
- Review the rental record held on the platform
- Help both parties reach a resolution on a best-effort basis
- Act on complaints about conduct, content, or misuse of the platform
- Suspend accounts that breach our Terms of Service
Photograph the item together at handover and at return, and keep those photos. If a dispute reaches a consumer forum or a court, that record is what decides it.
What's coming
We are exploring optional protection plans for selected item categories, to be offered through a licensed insurance partner. We are also working on in-app identity verification, delivery, and in-app payments.
None of these are available today. No rental on Anymo is currently insured or covered by any protection plan, and no identity on the platform has been verified by us. We will announce each feature on this page when it goes live.
Grievance Officer
If you have a complaint about the platform, our Grievance Officer will acknowledge it within 24 hours and aims to resolve it within 15 days, in line with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.
